We approximately spend a third of our life in bed sleeping. Some of us more and some of us less depending upon what we do in the bed. But we all have to sleep so it's important that we have a deep and comfortable sleep. We have all endured restless sleeps or waking up with neck pains where you can't even turn your head without having the excrutiating pain reaching the soles of your feet.
The research experts in the sleeping industry tell us that we are all at risk from these ailments if we do not have a good quality bed or pillow. My self personally am an outdoor type and spend as many nights as possible under canvas and pride myself on being able to sleep anywhere, anytime and in any condition. However as the years have rolled by my good old body is not as strong as it used to be and after having woken a couple of times on the hard floor with a few pains I have begun to take heed in what the sleep experts have been saying.
Now this has surprised me to be honest as I'm Swedish, have no problems whatsoever with camping out in sub zero temperatures and feeding myself by plunging in ice cold waters and catching the fine delicacy of raw fish. To listen to some white coated expert stuck in a small office is actually quite unimaginable. But shush, I have and am very pleased that I have done so.
I have not got to the extreme of acquiring and new bed and pillow but have met the sleep experts half way and have bought myself a new pillow. This pillow I can use in my home or take with me whenever I go out on a trip with the tent. This pillow is a memory foam pillow that has the ability to mold itself to your head and neck whilst sleeping to give you all the support and comfort you require to have a great night's sleep. And I have to admit that it does actually work. Maybe I shall set up a small franchise here in Sweden and supply them to fellow outdoor types and campers.
This memory foam that fills the pillows is a product that was first developed by NASA in 1966 to try and improve the comfort and safety of cushions in aeroplanes. Memory foam became popular in time and was very prominent in the health sector then the sports sector until becoming popular in the general public market with beds and pillows. The pillow I own is the Sleep Better Iso Cool from the company Sleep Better. This pillow not only molds to the shape of my head and neck but is also temperature sensitive.
If my body temperature is too cool this pillow releases heat and thus warms up my head affecting the rest of the body. And if my body temperature is too warm, then the pillow absorbs the heat and cools me down. How about that! So not only do I get all the support I need,but also my body temperature is monitored as well. At this moment in time I do not have a franchise in memory foam pillows so I am not trying to sell you one. But I do strongly recommend that you own one. Take care.
